Today, we had a lovely visit from a referral partner and their client. Bread & Roses Soup Kitchen brought a client that is homeless but is trying to line up some employment. It was a fun visit. The individual was a great guest to say the least.
Just before he got to me, the person he was with had just bought him some work boots - they actually looked pretty good. I was able to provide the client with pants, a button up shirt, a belt and a blazer.
"This is the first time in a long time that I felt like a human"
When I offered him shoes, he said he wanted to stick to the boots. The client has a background in welding and that was the work he was aiming for so we all agreed that the boots could pair well with a business casual outfit to fit the nature of the work and the interviews.
After the appointment, he was off to get a shave and a hair cut.
The best part was receiving a text from the staff member passing on the word that the homeless client said, "This is the first time in a long time that I felt like a human." ❤
I can't wait to hear if he gets the job!
